You’ll find it much more peaceful at the most northern part of the beach, as there are generally less visitors to this area. Venture further downtown and you’ll be greeted by a livelier atmosphere of bars and restaurants. The beach itself is 6.3 miles long and is generally considered one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean. In terms of beach activities, you have the option of swimming, kayaking, parasailing, snorkeling, scuba diving and more! As with many other Caribbean countries, there are plenty of types of wildlife to see! You’ll have no problem locating turtles, birds, iguanas, and all types of fish. The best time to visit would be from May – August, as this is a time of the year where storm threats and prices are lower. Last but not least, there is no entrance fee to enjoy the beach. However, it’s important to remember that this beauty does not come without a price. As a visitor, it’s important to treat both the locals and environment with respect. It wouldn’t be possible to enjoy this beauty without the conservation efforts of the locals.

Another one of the Cayman Islands most popular attractions is the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park. The park spans 65 acres of land that is owned and operated by the Cayman Islands Government and National Trust for the Cayman Islands. The conservation and preservation efforts of the park and largely due to the efforts of these two bodies. The park includes seven main attractions and several smaller ones. Several gardens, including the Floral Garden, Xerophytic Garden, and the Children’s Garden allow you to explore the natural beauty of the Cayman Islands at your own pace. You won’t want to miss the Blue Iguana Habitat! These large, blue iguanas are only found on Grand Cayman Island. This habitat is a captive breeding facility, ensuring that this local population will continue to thrive. In addition to the local animals, the park offers a small lake, trails and even a visitor center if you’d like to grab a small memento of your trip. The park is continually expanding its conservation efforts and provides updates with some of its larger projects. A perfect trip for those looking to get out of the sun or to provide their kids with a fun-filled day of learning.
