10 Days in Turkey: Istanbul and Cappadocia (with a Mediterranean detour)

A 10-day Turkey itinerary — four nights in Istanbul, three in Cappadocia, three on the Mediterranean coast at Antalya or Kaş — with domestic flights handling the long transitions.

By Noa Katz · Verified April 2026

Turkey in 10 days works as a three-act structure: Istanbul for the density, Cappadocia for the visual impossibility of the landscape, and the Mediterranean coast for the Mediterranean. Four nights in Istanbul (Sultanahmet, the Grand Bazaar, the ferry to Kadıköy), three in Cappadocia (one sunrise balloon, cave-hotel nights, underground cities), three at Kaş or Antalya on the Lycian coast. Two domestic flights connect everything; don't try to drive between these regions.

FAQ

Turkey itinerary: common questions

For Istanbul + Cappadocia + one coastal region, yes. Adding Ephesus/Pamukkale (west coast), the Black Sea, or Mount Ararat area would need 14+ days.
