Arun Banerjee writes about South Asia for destination.com, with particular depth on the Himalayan belt from Ladakh through Bhutan and the port cities of the Bay of Bengal. Before joining as a contributing writer in 2025 he spent seven years as a staff writer at Condé Nast Traveller India, where he won the Asian Publishing Award for features twice. His reporting draws on a prior decade running bespoke itineraries for a Kolkata-based DMC, and he writes with the operator's eye for what actually runs on time. He is the co-author of "The Grand Trunk Road" (HarperCollins India, 2021).
