Luckily, the Grand Palace has a modest entry fee of between $15-$20, so it’s a great way to explore the city while making sure you don’t break the bank.
Wat Arun, better known as the Temple of Dawn, is another popular tourist attraction in Bangkok. A Buddhist temple that has existed since the mid 1600’s, it serves as an important reminder of the influence of Buddhism in Thailand. The most obvious feature of the temple is its central prang or spire, which is decorated with hand-crafted, colorful porcelain. This spire reached a couple hundred feet in the air, dwarfing the local buildings and is surrounded by four smaller pagodas. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can climb the middle level of the grand pagoda. This vantage point allows you to take in the stunning views of the Chao Phraya River, as well as the Grand Palace and Wat Pho which are located nearby. Visitors are welcome for a small fee of between $5-$10.

If all of this seems like too much excitement or stimulation for the day, you might want to think about heading to Vertigo atop Banyan Tree Bangkok. Sit back, relax, and enjoy drinks and food while viewing the Bangkok skyline. One word of caution, this place isn’t for those with a fear of heights! Bangkok is a city of exploration, so don’t be shy to venture off the beaten path. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, and clubs that will have you mingling with the locals and dancing the night away.
